Spicy Fried Fish Recipe
Simple to prepare delicious spicy fried fish which can be served as a main dish.

Serves 6
Spicy Fried Fish Recipe Ingredients:
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 cloves crushed garlic
2.5 cm piece fresh grated ginger
1 medium onion, sliced
4 spring onions, cut into short lengths
1 tablespoon fish sauce
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
1 tablespoon soft brown sugar
1 cup of water
1 cup of plain flour
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon ground paprika
1 1/2 lb firm white fish fillets
2 egg whites, beaten lightly
oil for deep-frying
1 tablespoon cornflour
1 tablespoon extra water
Spicy Fried Fish Recipe Cooking Instructions:
1. Heat the sesame oil in a small pan. Add the garlic, ginger, onion and spring onion. Cook over medium heat for 3 minutes or until the onion is golden. Stir in the fish sauce, soy sauce, sugar and water. Set aside while preparing and cooking the fish.
2. Mix the flour, cumin, coriander and paprika in a medium-sized bowl. Cut the fish fillets into 3/4 inch cubes. Dip the cubes in the egg white and dust lightly with the spiced flour, shaking off any excess.
3. Heat the oil in a deep pan or wok. Add the fish fillets in batches and deep-fry over high heat for 3 to 4 minutes or until golden and thoroughly cooked. Drain on paper towels. Keep warm.
4. Dissolve the cornflour in the water. Add it to the sauce mixture, stirring constantly until the mixture boils and thickens. Serve the fried fish pieces topped with the hot sauce. Garnish with sliced spring onions.
