Spicy Meat Fritters Recipe
These spicy meat fritters can be served with or without rice at any party.
Spicy Meat Fritters Recipe Ingredients:
450g lean minced (ground) beef
450g potatoes, boiled and drained
1 bunch of spring onions, chopped
1 onion, quartered
3 garlic cloves, crushed
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
4 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon coriander seeds, dry-fried and ground
2 teaspoons cumin seeds, dry-fried and ground
Oil for shallow frying
Salt
Ground black pepper
Spicy Meat Fritters Recipe Cooking Instructions:
1. Mash the potatoes in the pan, while still warm, until they are well broken up. Add to the minced beef and mix well together.
2. Finely chop the onion, spring onions and garlic. Add to the meat with the ground nutmeg, coriander and cumin. Stir in enough beaten egg to give a soft consistency which can be formed into fritters. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
3. Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Using a dessertspoon, scoop out 6-8 oval-shaped fritters and drop them into the hot oil. Leave to set to keep their shape (will take about 3 minutes). Then turn over and cook for another minute.
4. Drain well on kitchen paper. Keep warm while cooking the remaining fritters.
